Frequently Asked Questions
Can I work at specific healthcare facilities?
Yes you can! We’re the preferred provider for many different healthcare facilities across Victoria. So you can pick up shifts at your preferred location in Melbourne, Geelong, or rural & remote locations across Victoria. You’ll be able to experience many different workplaces and explore the full extent of your clinical scope.
If there are any specific healthcare facilities that you want to keep on working at, let us know, and we can put you on the priority list for that location.
Do I get scrubs when I sign up?
Yes you do! We provide all our nurses with a high quality and comfortable uniform, either a polo shirt or scrubs. Designed in consultation with our nurses, the uniforms feature our stylish navy and the signature First Choice Care red tick.
How much are agency nurses paid?
As an agency nurse you’ll receive a casual rate. This specific rate will differ depending on your qualifications, nursing designation, level of experience, and the healthcare client you are working with.
The great thing about agency nursing is that you have more control over how much you work. You can choose the shifts that you work without the limitations of a team roster and colleague availability. If you want shifts with a higher penalty rate, you can choose them. It’s all up to you.
What happens if a shift gets cancelled?
In the unfortunate situation where we need to cancel a shift, we’ll give you plenty of warning. If this happens, we don’t want you to miss out. So, we will work hard to find you a new shift that meets your schedule. You’ll get a call from our team and we will work it out with you.
