About the Goldfields Region:
The Goldfields region of Western Australia is famous for its rich history of gold mining and vast desert landscapes. Centered around Kalgoorlie, the region has been a major mining hub since the late 19th century gold rush and remains one of the world's largest gold-producing areas. Beyond mining, the Goldfields boasts rugged natural beauty, with salt lakes, red deserts, and historic ghost towns. The area's economic focus includes mining and minerals exploration, but tourism also plays a role, with visitors drawn to its unique history, landscapes, and Aboriginal culture.
